Strategies & method.
After having heard -unexpectedly- the complaint of a group of students for the way I evaluate the subject*, I have made a decision. I've decided to change my methodology. These pupils of AE -Atención Educativa- say they've got the impression they were evaluated in a very subjective manner. Their personal view basically stands out the fact that they think I am being unfair. They think they deserve a higher mark on the subject. I remind them that the evaluation of the subject is not relevant for the student record. I insist on reminding them AE is an easy subject of no academic importance according to LOMLOE (Spanish education law, 2023/24).
This happens after they see their last task -easy test on two topics where they must express briefly about a piece of news and make some insight on a cartoon. Obviously the responses to these items are to be free, open, creative. They complain about their marks. They don't like them. I openly ask what do they demand. One of them proposes to get a mark taking into account their effort & their behavior. Then, I respond that the marking she proposes would be the darkest way of evaluation in school.

I will teach them ethics as well. I will show them texts, videos, stories and cartoons. I will be happy to listen their s u b j e c t i v e views.
However, the tasks will be from now on mostly objective and not open.
To conclude, I will teach ethics, they will argue and express their views orally. Then, they will be marked accurately in black and white.**
