'Nothing I do is ever enough. And I'm not mad about it, I'm not disappointed. I knew that already, I KNOW this, but what makes me feral with annoyance is that everyone insists on LYING and telling me that it's fine. That I'm so loved just for the virtue of who I am, that I'm just ✨ special ✨ and important no matter what.

But where's everyone when the absolutely-nothing-happening-crisis pops up? When I don't just fix and spring back into my usual form in an hour or two, or a day? When I can't people please and be the most caring, emotionally giving 23 year old in the room? Oh, well that one's easy. My partner gets depressed and self deprecates because he doesn't know how to help. My friends give up because I'm not doing the things they require and I should just do [insert irrelevant, contrite advice here]. People can say they're here through anything and they care about me all they want, but then where's that logic when I lack the energy to be charismatic or fully mask my stress or when I don't do all the expected things, hmm?

But truly, thank you to the three or four human beings on this earth who have systematically proven to me that I should function on my own, because I don't need abandonment and to be tactfully lied to on my plate as well as everything else. I do better when I don't have to waste time trying to reach out to people who don't want to understand how I react, think, and feel. My feelings have never actually mattered anyways. That's been made clear by the fact that all my friends started the same way and have all at some point consistently plowed past my boundaries, regardless of how I felt. Rapists, liars, sociopaths, attention whores, and people who ignore what I know best about myself. That's what I choose to surround myself with. I sure know how to pick em.'
